There is so much on offer for the gay traveler or any other type of traveler. The people of this country are fantastic and the tourism infrastructure is second to none. Although the bright lights of the big city and close location of slums is a draw card for crime, traveling, particularly with a tour group is quite safe. Carnival time is fantastic, but travel is much more expensive at that time and it is the hottest time of the year.

The country is a rainbow nation of culture and race, so the food and drink is different wherever you go. It is a must to drink a caipirinha from the deck of a schooner while visiting the islands around the coastline of Rio.

Wherever you decide to vacation in Brazil will be brilliant, Recife, Natal, Bahia, the Amazon, Parana, Santa Catarina. Every state in this great county has something special to offer. I personally don't like San Paulo, and to my mind Brasilia is only for visitors who are avidly interested in architecture. Towns such as Parati are fantastic, and if you book at the Pousada de Ouro, you will find that a great many celebrities have spent vacation time there.

A bus trip to the famous town of Parati, is a real adventure, getting there is part of the fun, and this is the case with many of the best spots in Brazil. And if you are visiting the south, head for Santa Caterina and Praia do Pinho, this beach is the first official nudist beach.
